Dinner with Uncle Bubba

Friday, September 12, 2003 -- Uncle Bubba invited us to dinner before tonight's high school football game. He and Linda picked up Grandma and met us at Chisholm. We ran into Ronnie who just happened to be there having a burger. Bubba recounted his story about granddaughter Hannah outrunning all of the boys at soccer practice. He said she even elbowed one little boy out of the way as she went by (he seemed a little too proud about that last bit). After dinner, Bubba offered the boys 20 dollars each to wax Grandma's car. They politely declined the money, saying "Oh no Uncle Bubba, we will be happy to wax Grandma's car for free." Wait... no... I'm thinking of an alternate universe or possibly another planet. Here on earth, they took the money and ran. Bubba wisely gave them each only 10 dollars up front, with the balance to be paid after the job is completed.
