Kids Love Construction Equipment

Thursday, January 15, 2004 -- The weather here in Skidmore has been wet but comfortably warm over the last few days. Josh and I drove out to the new ballpark site this evening to watch Richard Chambers dig up gigantic concrete blocks with a backhoe. Joshua was impressed by the power of the backhoe as it sparked against the several-hundred-pound chunks of broken sidewalk. There wasn't much we could do to help out so we took a break for a late dinner at Chisholm, then stopped by the field again. Josh and I called it quits when a light rain began to fall but Richard was still hard at it as we drove away. Zach, who had declined to join us earlier, was mighty upset when he learned we had dinner at Chisholm.
