Goodbye Tree

Monday, Feb 16, 2004 -- We performed our annual Christmas tree burning ceremony this evening and had our first long conversation with the Husers since their son Brett was killed in an automobile accident. They seem to be coping with the situation as best they can although I still can't imagine how they manage it. Joshua came down with one of his headaches and refused to eat the chicken legs we grilled for dinner. Zach and Ty, while playing by the house, somehow managed to break the emergency water line connecting our house to he Husers.
