Tragic News

Saturday, Feb 7, 2004 -- Cathi and the boys were cleaning out the garage this afternoon when the phone rang. Josh and I could tell by Cathi's reaction that the news would not be good. Cathi immediately burst into tears after hanging up the phone. "Brett was killed in a car wreck!" It was hard to believe, but Brett Huser, 19 year-old son of our neighbors, Doug & Desiree Huser, died yesterday in a car crash north of San Antonio. Brett was a good kid with whom we spent many a night sitting around the firepit. Josh and Zach were particularly upset over the news as Brett used to play with them a lot before he graduated and went off to college. He was a sweet kid and we'll all miss him a lot.
