Farmer Josh
Wednesday, September 22, 2004 -- Josh had me up before dawn this morning. He had to be at the school at 6:45 am to hop on a bus to an FFA "Land Judging" contest. When I picked him up after school, he called me over to talk to his ag teacher, Mr. Garcia, about the type of animal he should raise. "Did he tell you the good news?" asked Mr. Garcia. "Oh" said Josh. "My team came in first in the judging." Not only that, but Josh himself came in first, scoring higher than all 300 other participants in the contest. God help me, I'm raising a farmer. Oh, and Mr. Garcia suggested he would have a better chance at the stock show if he raised a lamb although Joshua later talked me into letting him raise a pig as he originally planned. We held our first Fall Ball practice this evening. Coach Butler and Uncle Ronnie showed up to help out. We had a reasonably good practice but grass on the field was a bit high and the team still needs a lot of work.
