Seventeen Days

Sunday, April 24, 2005 -- Josh attended his first rock concert this evening - courtesy of his mother who won tickets from some radio station. He was doubly fortunate to have his father tag along to hear "3 Doors Down" at Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi. 3DD is one of Joshua's favorite bands when he isn't listening to that dang country music. We arrived early enough for a pre-concert dinner at Catfish Charlies and a gratuitous 1/2 mile hike back to the car when security tried to confiscate my tiny little pocket knife. We were through the gate by 8:00 pm and had to suffer through "Silvertide" and "Prom King" for 2 hours before the headline act took the stage. We rented a couple of folding chairs and eventually wandered down to the stage for the full wall-of-sound effect. Joshua was stone-faced throughout but he says he had a good time. We arrived back in Skidville just before midnight. Not bad for a school night.
