Stampede 3 - Dawgs 4

Joshua stretches to make the catch at 1st base.

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005 -- The boys played their second game with the George West Stampede Flax team. Josh seems to have earned a permanent spot at 1st base. Zach only played two innings in tonight's game despite it being his birthday - a fact he mentioned several times within earshot of the coaches. Josh and Zach each found themselves in 2 out, bases loaded situations at one point or another in the game and each struck out. I think Zach was a bit intimidated by the 15 year old "Freshman of the Year" pitcher he was facing. Even so, he managed to foul a couple of balls off him. Joshua had the added honor of being the last out in the 7th inning as we watched an outside pitch go by. Cathi says the umpire was tired and wanted to go home.
