Friday, July 15, 2005 -- Cathi and the boys and I drove into Sonora yesterday in route to this weekend's Babe Ruth tournaments in Del Rio and Eagle Pass. Joshua is playing on a the 15-year old Three Rivers "FLAX" team and Zach is playing with the 14-year old George West "Stampede" team. Angie and Johnny were busy cooking steak fingers when we arrived at the ranch shortly after 6:00 p.m. After dinner and dessert, we stayed up late watching baseball games, "Cowboy U," and some interesting deep breathing exercises on video.

Zach will be good and ready for next year's stock show thanks to uncle Johnny. We were up bright and early this morning for sausage & egg breakfast tacos and a trip to El Dorado to look at some show-quality goats bred by the local veterinarian. Between the two of them, and with the help of a couple of knowledgeable ladies at the vet clinic, they managed to pick out a few good candidates for next year's show. Johnny plans to haul them into Skidmore in the next month or two.
