Playing Tourist in Austin

Saturday, November 26, 2005 -- David DuBose dropped by the house today just as Cathi and I were about to leave for Seguin to watch the Bobcats play Blanco in the Area playoff. I ended up riding up with David while Cathi and Josh followed behind. After the game (we lost), we decided to play tourist in Austin and accepted David's kind offer of lodging for the night (Zach opted to ride back with the team and spend the night at Grandma's).

Then followed a trip to Schlotskys for dinner and dessert (big cookies); a visit to the Apple store in Barton Creek mall (that's a big monitor); a tour of the in-progress "holiday" lights display on 37th Street; coffee and ice cream at Amy's; David's drive-by tour of the UT campus (at Joshua's request); pool, beer, and scotch eggs at the Dog & Duck Pub (at this point Cathi and Josh escaped with David to his place), then Lovejoys for another beer or two with Eloy, who politely listened to my liberal ranting for an hour or so, before giving me back to David. Good times!
