80 Acres

Sunday, January 29, 2006 -- Uncle Ronnie invited me to Dairy Queen for tea and coffee this afternoon. We drove out to see the 80 acre tract of land he is purchasing out on "Lover's Lane." The land is located directly across from the Rix's place and is overgrown with small willows. There is a single impressive oak tree located more or less in the middle the property near which Ronnie & Diann are considering building a home. After or tour of the land, we stopped by the ag farm to check on Josh and Zach's animals. Cathi and the boys drove up just as we were about to leave the farm. The boys spent the rest of the afternoon helping their ag teacher, Mr. Garcia, shear animals for this week's stock show.

Back at the house, I worked on my garden a bit, then stoked the barbecue pit with wood for our evening meal of "Lil' Porkies." The Husers dropped by to cook up some deer sausage and watch us torch the remains of the Christmas tree in the fire pit.

Oh, and Mrs. Huser clued me in on the REAL reason Mr. Baker is building a new privacy fence. She says he's tired of seeing the boys "run around the house in their underwear;-)"
