Losing the win

Friday, March 9, 2006 -- Missed a whole day of work today watching the boys play in the Ingleside tournament. The Bobcats lost to West Oso in the first game. Zach pitched the second game against Taft and was removed from the mound after the after the 3rd or 4th inning with the Bobcats leading 8-5. After going through two other pitchers and walking a couple of runs in, coach said "Little Pete, I may have to put you back in." Sure enough, he was back in the game with 2 outs and the score tied 8-8 in the bottom of the 5th, trying to get his own SAVE. The batter popped out to 2nd base on his second pitch to end the inning. Unfortunately the game was called due to time-limit and Taft was declared the winner based on game stats. Dang. Next game: 10 a.m. Saturday for 7th place.
