Please wake up
Tuesday, October 17, 2006 -- Another sad day in American history as President Bush signs into law the "Military Commissions Act of 2006" in which torture and secret detentions are deemed perfectly legal as long as they are carried out by the good ol' United States of America. Sadly, the rest of the world won't buy Bush's doublespeak and our own servicemen and women will ultimately pay the price.
It's not about Republican versus Democratic values. It's about basic human rights, human dignity and EVERY human being's unalienable right to innocence pending proof of guilt.
The Day Habeas Corpus Died.
"As you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me."
