Finely Carved

Wednesday, January 10, 2007 -- Zach and I drove into Corpus for his orthodontist appointment this morning. We had an early lunch afterwards at the new and improved and relocated to IH-35 Chicken Shack in Calallen - the only chicken place in which I am willing to eat. The Chicken Shack appears to be doing a brisk business in take-out meals for the local refineries as there was a steady stream of men in blue jumpsuits picking up boxes of chicken. For dinner, Cathi and I decided to barbecue the bacon-wrapped "steaks" I purchased at Walmart recently. They turned out to be bacon-wrapped hamburger patties which I guess COULD be interpreted at "finely carved" as indicated on the packaging. "Thanks for the appetizer," said Josh. "Where's the main course?"
