Josh Takes the Mound

Thursday, February 15, 2007 -- Skidmore is currently under a "hard freeze" warning. I covered up most of the more sensitive plants in my garden and am hoping for the best. Joshua's baseball scrimmage in Bishop ended up being colder than a (insert colorful colloquialism here). Poor Josh was called in to pitch midway through the first inning. The original pitcher allowed a home run on his very first pitch of the game and Josh entered the game with a 9 run deficit. He did pretty well though, striking out four, allowing three walks, and two runs over the next 3 1/2 innings. He also got on base twice with two nice line drives right up the middle. We very nearly caught up before the game was called due to bitter cold.
