RIP Little Black Lambus

Monday, May 14, 2007 -- I found the smaller of Zach's two lambs dead in her pen this morning. It's just as well as it was clear Sunday night that her broken leg had not healed properly. I had planned to take her to the vet to be put down today, but instead ended up burying her this afternoon. The mama lamb, who we had separated from the babies, seemed to know something was wrong. As I dug the hole, she nosed around and eventually laid down against the tin wall of the shed opposite where the dead lamb lay.
