Zach's Big Opening Day Dove Hunt

Sunday, September 23, 2007 -- Zach invited his buddies Cody Chambers, Zach Hall, and William Hughes out to uncle Ronnie's place Saturday for dove hunting and an overnight camp-out. Ronnie and I chaperoned the whole affair and ended up eating most of the doves ourselves while the boys held out for barbecued chicken legs. William, whose job was to bring the campfire marshmallows, showed up just before midnight with "mini" marshmallows to everyone's amusement. I left the boys to their own devices shortly after midnight but was called back at 2:00 a.m. to re-light the Coleman lantern. Josh returned home around 3:00 a.m. and is now the 3rd victim to be infected by Zach's stomach virus.
