A personal first
Tuesday, November 6, 2007 -- Today, for the first time in my life, I cast a ballot in a major election and EVERY single item I voted for passed. Yes, I voted YES on every proposition as did a whole bunch of other Texans on both sides of the political divide. Maybe I'm on a roll and next year my presidential candidate will actually win (God help us if he/she doesn't). While recording my votes, I overheard the election workers tallying the votes from earlier ballots. Twice, people voted no on Proposition 10 - a proposal to remove references to the now defunct position of "Inspector of Hides and Animals" from the Texas Constitution. What? Did these people just check off random boxes?
