Take back the evil thing?

Sunday, January 6, 2007 -- In the movie "The Gods Must be Crazy," a Coca Cola bottle is dropped from an airplane over a remote section of Africa. The primitive local tribesman, who previously had not known greed, envy, or materialism, assume it to be a gift from the gods and end up fighting over the supposedly sacred object. After witnessing the deteriorating harmony among the formerly peaceful tribe, the eldest tribesman finally declares the Coke bottle an "evil thing" and sets off on an epic journey to toss it off the edge of the world.

My own little tribe recently acquired an "evil thing" in the form of a Chevrolet Suburban. Whether it goes the way of the Coke bottle remains to be seen.
