Thursday, September 11, 2008 -- Can you spot the dangerous thing in this photo? While helping Mr. Holubec board up one of Mrs. DuBose's windows this morning, we came across a little "red & yellow, kill a fellow" Coral snake. I chopped its head off with a hoe as it made a run for it across the open yard. I was about to pick the snake up by the tail but decided I didn't want to get my hands dirty. This proved to be a good decision as Coral snakes will apparently play dead when threatened. It came to life as I scooped it up with the hoe. My first chop had missed but the second did not.
